TOP 5 HUMAN PROBLEMS and how to solve them by Anthony Vivero

Note: first published last May 28, 2007 under Anthony's column Vibes and Visions in the Life section of The Daily Tribune.

We, humans, are enslaved y worldly problems. We live our whole lives trying to overcome these problems, but it is just a vicious cycle of solving one and having another later on. The main cause of all these is “having no knowledge of the real reason of our own existence on Earth.” AVV507

Here the five major problems we usually worry about:

1. MONEY – We cannot live without money. It is the current set-up of today’s living, making it impossible for anyone to last a single day without having and using money. Gone are the days where many things were free and accessible, like potable water, which could be had all over the land, from rural to urban areas. Now everything must be acquired with money. That’s why we work like a dog until we drop dead or don’t work at all and still drop dead. We pay dues today just to have a new set of payables right after.

2. CAREER – Early on we are trained to focus on a chosen career. We look forward to achieving this dream by studying very hard, but sooner or later can get totally lost and frustrated. Many of these dreamed careers fail and we end up on different paths, losing track of ourselves and eventually our entire lives.

3. ROMANCE – ‘… and they live happily ever after…’ This is the classic romantic ending that most ladies dream of – a fairy tale. In the current generation, Mr. Prince Charming has lost his grip on romance as Mr. Security has taken top priority. For men and women today, getting true and honest romance is harder to achieve, unlike before. Many people have become deceiving of their real intentions from the onset. Anyone with vested interest in their hearts lose in the end.

4. FAMILY – We are so preoccupied planning the best for our family. We live our lives directing and creating the script for each member of our family. Sooner or later, we realize the members of our family have their own lives to live and decide to do so the way they want, not according to your own desires and wishes. Your master plan is revised or even trashed in the worst scenario. Frustration sets in and eventually you hate your own family for not obeying you.

5. HEALTH – We live to the fullest and also for the worse. Life on Earth is not as healthy as before. The lifestyle today will kill us early. Before, children’s snacks were based on natural fruits and homemade goodies prepared by our mothers or grandmothers. Today, everyone, including little children, can just make a phone call and presto, their fast food snacks are delivered tot heir doorstep. Food saturated fat and oil, preserved by chemicals, are tasty and delicious, but are not good for one’s health.

WHAT TO DO:

1. MONEY – Live within your means. Pay everything in cash, avoid the use of credit cards as long as you can or if you do have to use them do so sparingly and only for emergencies. Pay as soon as you can to avoid multiple surcharges and unending bills. People who have more luxuries in life have more problems, statistics reveal, because their lives get more complicated.

2. CAREER – Just follow your passion. Don’t get into a career that is against your will, a fad of the season, or your friends/associates/peers had taken. Don’t dream of a career that is beyond your family’s financial capacity, and most importantly, beyond your mental capability, so that frustration won’t be that great. It will be easy, fun and happy.

3. ROMANCE – Commit only to the person you really love. If you want your romance to last forever, there is no other reason that must come first but love. Romance that doesn’t fade away is true love. The greatest mistake a person can make when he or she enters into a relationship commitment is the mindful financial and physical security in life.

4. FAMILY – We do not own our family like personal property. It is there to build and take care of. We should be guiding each other for each individual’s progress, and not push our personal dreams and fancies on one another. Each one is an individual with his or her own personality, character and ability. We must support each always. To live in balance with their plans combined with yours will yield the happiness and peace anyone could have ever imagined.

5. HEALTH – The key to better health is balance. Eat a balanced diet. Rest and work in balanced rhythm – do not stress yourself out, but also do not be lazy. Work must be fun and fulfilling. Don’t invest too much on medical and pre-need insurance, but rather spend more time and effort on healthy and quality living.

Remember, greed will give you problems, worries and stresses, rather than health and peace of mind. Acceptance of what we have and do not have will give us the happiness and clear mind we’ve always desired.

Life will be a breeze!
